![]() Adventure & Exotic Travel is a division of Nodland Travel Enterprises. NTE reflects more than two decades of experience in promoting some of the world's most creative travel opportunities. The principal, Helen Nodland, is herself an accomplished 7-Continent traveler with comprehensive knowledge of all aspects of this unique market niche. Helen's travel industry experience ranges from travel agent, expedition leader, tour director, and sales director positions. This background led Helen to found, in 1990, Nodland Travel Enterprises, a marketing and educational presentation company dedicated to introducing exotic, adventure, active and eco-friendly travel products into the travel agency and special interest group market areas. Long both an advocate and participant in adventure travel, she brings her sales and marketing expertise, along with speaking, teaching, and theatrical skills to the travel marketplace. The stated mission of Nodland Travel Enterprises is "to be a doorway to extraordinary, life changing experiences."
She has worked with the industry's leading travel associations - Virtuoso, Giants, Leisure Travel Group, NACTA, AAA and others - as well as online travel companies and, of course, top adventure tour operators. Melody Brown Massey was the right hand to all things Adventure & Exotic Travel-related for more than eight years, including newsletter & web site editor, NTE press relations and event planning. She has extensive experience working with adventure travel companies, has lived overseas and traveled throughout the world, and has a particular interest in the indigenous arts and crafts of the places she explores. Mel serves on the board of the Asia Transpacific Foundation, is the editor of APTA News, the quarterly publication of the Association for the Promotion of Tourism to Africa (APTA), and does commercial and editorial writing/editing for travel industry clients. Mary Vinzi Phillips administered A&ET event registration. She has been a key player in this organization as well as an avid promotor of music and art tours to central Europe.
